My Review

I had watched The Wolfpack documentary film for the first time on Friday 18th September 2015, the narrative was a linear narrative.

If I liked the film and why?

I thought that the film was okay, I liked the way they showed that each brother has the other brother’s back and that they were a team and nothing could break that. Also, I liked the clip shown of them acting out the different film because I would lighten up a kind of dark subject. I loved the brothers fashion sense because it was original, as I had observed the background and no other individuals had their kind of style which I thought was nice.

What I thought about the storyline?

I thought the storyline was really good, reason being it made you sympathy for the brothers because of the fact the father kept them closed off of the world. Also, the mother, she didn’t stand up to her husband which was really sad and when she said that she hasn’t talk to her mother for over 10 years. If that was me, I think that I would be really distort and disheartened or I think I would have secretly tried to get in contact with her sooner than she did. Even if I didn’t know the neighbourhood that well, I would have asked questions, because my mum gave birth to me, I love my mother. Also, the memories of how she was adventurous before and how that changed. Few  of the many reason why I think that this film has a good storyline.

Write about the actors and the role they play as well as how I thought they did?

Throughout the film I felt that the Angulo brothers were very honest with what they had to say however, I feel like the oldest was holding quite a bit back that you wanted to know but he wouldn’t elaborate on. Other the hand, he did give the director quite a lot of information rather than not saying anything (they all did).

I really disliked the father which was because of the stories the brothers told, the way he presented himself in the film and the fact that in the archive footage it portrayed him as a loving, caring father. When actually, he hit their mother and locked them all in the house like a prisoner. I’m not surprised they “rebelled” at the age that they did, if not sooner.

Overall opinion of the film?

Overall, I enjoyed the movie considering I’m not to interested in Documentaries. I feel felt quite emotional after watching this film. I thought that the director did a job in capturing their life and what had kept them sane. Also, I think that it raises awareness to other people who might be in the same situation that they were in or didn’t think that this kind of lifestyle existed in America and maybe even all over the world.

Would I recommend this film, why and why not?

I would definitely recommend this documentary film because I think that it makes people ponder about how they are living their own lives. In addition to that, raises awareness and just is an well presented, emotional film to watch and enjoy; though some of the scenes in the film may not appeal to others but I absolutely recommend it. 4 Stars.
