Mark Caffoor informed the class about a new brief that we will be doing. Then we had to get into groups of 4. However, there weren’t enough people so, we had to work as a three. Jeremy, Tia and I (Stephanie) are in a group. We started to brainstorm and came up with three ideas.
The first idea was an ‘Unhealthy VS Healthy’ theme, the female or male is going about their day, the male or female are going to have breakfast, lunch and dinner.
If the female or male takes the healthy routine, then their day will go well and if they pick the unhealthy option then their day may or may not go bad. Breakfast would either be Porridge and fruit, or leftover chicken and or chip.
The second idea a ‘Bus Route’ theme, there’s a person (character) and they have a start and end destination. There is a certain bus route that you have to take; if you click the wrong bus you go a completely different places.
And the third and final idea was an ‘Outfit/fashion’ theme. A girl picks out an outfit, the chose of the outfit depends on the kind of day the character has. There are two different outfits; one is a tomboy type outfit for example, Tracksuits or Tracksuit bottoms, sneakers and a hoody. The other one would be a girly girl type outfit such as a sparkly dress or jeans and a pink top.
The end result of the brainstorm was that we would combine all the ideas together taking bits and pieces of each idea. So, the idea was that there is a female character, she wakes up in the morning and she goes downstairs to have breakfast. Her mum presents the female character with a healthy breakfast; the viewer either clicks to take the healthy breakfast or goes to the fridge and takes an unhealthy leftover meal.
On to the next one….
After eating the desired breakfast, she lays out two different clothing. One of the choices would be a tomboyish outfit and the other choice is the Girly girl outfit, again the audience will decide which piece of clothing is worn.
(Maybe their will be different types of friend would be added)
On to the last one….
Finally, the female character (by herself or with friends) are going to a destination. (Don’t know where yet but whatever bus you take, will give a different and will be the final outcome.)

Then we changed the main character, instead of it being a female it was going to be a male, because me and tiara didn’t want to act so Jeremy decided that he would do it. We also changed the story bit because it was kind of complicated, making the storyline simplistic.

I have neatened up the storyline and the mind-map that we had done together. Also, I have made a list of things that we need for the interactive video. So that when we get together as a group I can show them.

Today, I had shown the group what I had done, which was an organised storyline that would be easier to read and understand, because the one we had done on paper was messy and confusing.
Unfortunately, Tiara was not in so I have to show her another day, but we are making good progress.
Once I had shown Jeremy and Rayon the mind map of the story line, we started to talk about location (which I had written beforehand), asking questions such as How far is everything to Jeremy’s house e.g. the bus stop, shops etc. We had to change the storyline a bit due to one of the locations. We couldn’t do the scene and that was due to lack of permission from Jeremy’s friend who was supposed to be in the film.
Rayon suggested that the storyline didn’t have to be exciting as long as it worked, we cleared that with Mark (our tutor) and he was right. So, what we are going to do now is use Jeremy’s neighbour’s door so it looks like he is at his friend’s house, which was very smart and solved our problem.
After the majority of the planning was done, we had started on the script, however, we did not know what to write. So, I thought it would be easier to start with the storyboard, so that we can get an idea about how it is going to be filmed and then the script would just flow. Now we have done a bit of the storyboard.What we need to do is finish the storyboard and then start typing up the script. Once that is done, we need to assign roles.

Rayon is no longer in our group, I don’t what the reason was behind that decision but he is no longer in our group. Unfortunately, we had to change everything because Jeremy is an unreliable source, so we used Tiara instead of Jeremy. Then we had changed the pathway a bit because it was a bit to long and complicated, now it is simpler to the one we had before. Tiara rewrites the storyline making sure the storyline is correct, which was beneficial, I had added the start again part.

Tia is more reliable and focused so today she filmed the whole film using a POV (point of view) shot, which she suggest and I thought was a great idea considering she didn’t want to be a camera and have Jeremy be an actor. There were no complications of her filming.

Tia edited the footage using Adobe Premiere Pro, she filmed each piece of footage in one take and then put the different pathways together, which was really good. Also, she made the video a bit faster because the footage was too long and that was a great decision as well adding music to each of the footage. However, there were some faults to the editing because it was a bit confusing. So we changed it a bit, I have made it neater but still keeping what she had done, so we both worked on the edit.

Today, I had uploaded the recent one onto my blog and then I did the annotations for the video, which would join each of the piece of video together. Unfortunately, some of the footage did not have background music and that was my fault because I had forgotten to add some, however the interactive video still came together nicely. I had enjoyed using it and trying it out for myself.
