Target Audience

I need to establish who my target audience is going to be because it tells me what type of people might like to watch my film. This is going to be done by me telling people the plot of my film and asking them who is most likely to watch it and what age do you think this film would be aimed at?

My Final Major Idea – Summary

My final major project idea is about a guy named Aaron who gets revenge on the girls who rejected him in primary school (year 6), so for years, he has been plotting and taking revenge on them. He has two victims left, he kills his first victim, Lily and starts to pursue the other one, who is named Courtney, however, on his conquest he meets Kelly who is crazier than him.

Who is most likely to watch it and what age do you think my Final Major Project idea is aimed at?

Rose, 18

Rose’s feedback on my target audience is very interesting because she thinks that it is aimed at teenage girls instead of teenagers in general. I sort of agree with her because in this movie there are quite a few lovely imitate moments between characters. On the other hand, since it has blood and gore in it I think is this for boys as well. I think that the baseline age of 15 is a good age for this film so I strongly acknowledge this statement.

Carla, 18

I comply with Carla’s statement as a result of the baseline age being 15 years old. I was contemplating whether or not it should be lower for example 12+, however, I know my film and it’s content which clarified to me that 12 years could not process this movie. I think I could if I were 12 but, the content suggests that it would be 15 year olds and over.

Karim, 20

I think that the feedback that I received from Karim is good because it is similar to the other baseline ages and that means there is a pattern forming and that clarifies what my baseline age is going to be.

Maria, 18

Maria’s feedback was really useful because she gave me an age range, which is 16-26 year old people. I agree with this age range because teenagers and young adults would be best suited to watch my film. This is due to the content that forms my film, I think 15 year olds and over would understand it more and know a bit more information on the film.

Jacob, 19

 

I recognise that Jacob’s feedback has valid points to it because I think that the age range seems good and it is similar to maria’s age range and that reassuring. I think that Jacob is right in saying that he doesn’t see why it couldn’t appeal to all types of audience apart from kids because kids are fragile and they have fragile minds so I think that it is not suitable for kids.

Conclusion

I liked everyone’s opinion on who they think my film is targeted at along with what age that my film is aimed and suitable for. I agreed with all of the statements and I think that my target audience is 15+ because it’s not too graphical but it does have gore in it. So the baseline age would be 15 years old. Also, that it is not suitable for kids at all.
