My 4 University Choices + Why I Chose Them

Arts University Bournemouth

Description of the Course

The description of course implies that it is a very intensive experience, learning different aspects of film production at Bournemouth. Also, it has a wide range of things to learn as well as wide range professions that I go into when I graduate.

Facilities

I like this university because, the facilities are amazing. They have the latest equipment as well as equipment that people used to use before the advance of technology. Also, they have chill out spaces so you can talk about work as well as a place to create props (production design) and other great things that will help you progress whilst at the university.

Ravensbourne

Description of the Course

I really found the description of the course interesting. I like that in Year 1 most of the subject I will studying is high-definition skills. For example, in the first year it has that you will study: HD film production skills; broadcast technology; HD digital cinematography; HD post-production and digital post production effects; the film industry, and theory and context. So, there a lot of fun things that I would be learning, especially the first year that attracts me.

The other two years after that are also engaging. This is because you learn CGI and other important aspects such as, directing for current and emerging film platforms; contemporary production and location management; shooting for green screen; skills in creative collaboration, and dissertation preparation. In conjunction with that, professional skills – documentary and factual production; advanced skills – advance HD digital cinematography; sound design for digital film production; major project, and dissertation. So, you learn a lot in the space of 3 years at Ravensbourne.

Employers for Graduates

Another reason why I chose the university is because of the mentioned companies that graduates have gone to work for such as, Pinewood Studios and the fact that some have gone to build their own production companies.

Videos of previous projects

On the course description page features videos from previous students. After watching a few of them, I started to think if I get into the university then, my movies can be as of a higher standard and I could get awards for.
