This is the shortcut that links to Logic

These are templates for different(varied) genres.

The main template that you use is Empty ProjectScreen Shot 2014-11-12 at 10.46.49, creating sounds from  scratch which is good because you might not always make tune, you might have to fix a piece of audio because the editing software doesn’t have what you want.

This is the Electronic template Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 10.46.56, this template is used to create beats such as Techno. You could use this template if you adding a party/club vibe to your movie or whatever you were doing.

This template is Hip Hop Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 10.46.05, you use this template if you want to create beats such as rap or grime. You could use this template if you were making a street dance movie or a rap battle type movie.

 

This template is R&B Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 10.46.33, you use that template if you want to make a little tune for an intro etc. and its under that genre. Also, if you wanted to have a Romantic scene then you can use this template.

This template is Rock Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 10.46.37, you use this template if you had wanted to create beats inspired by Bonjovi, Led Zeppelin or Guns & Roses.

The window shown in the picture above is called the Arrange Window, it is used to arrange and rearrange audio as well as instruments.

This is the bin located in the Media tab and you can import audio into it so its easier to use, it is not a rubbish bin that you use to get rid of something that you don’t like. It’s an American term.

This is the Media tab, and it contains different loops.

The tool bar located at the bottom of the screen(shown in the picture above) has different elements for example

One of the tools shown is called the tempo, it controls how fast the audio is going to be, measured in Beats Per Minute (BPM).

Another tool is called the Metronome Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 11.02.28 and that clicks or ticks every time it passes a bar.

The other tool do other things, you can test them out to see what you like

This is called the…. window, it shows how many tracks you have added……

This is the mixer, it is used to edit the audio, to make tracks lower or louder. Furthermore, add different effects to make the audio better or different.

 

This tool Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 11.12.37 is used to duplicate the format of tracks you are using.

The numbers on top show you how many bars there are, this helps you to keep up with the meteronome.

This tool Screen Shot 2014-11-12 at 11.16.48 is to play (shown on the left) and the other is to stop. However, there are shortcuts, to play you can press the space bar and to stop it’s the enter button on the keyboard.

This shows you all the notes that you have played on the midi controller (keyboard) or the computer’s keyboard.

How to use Loops

How to use loops for a video on logic

First of all you open up logic by clicking this symbol.  Logic Pro

 Once open you should then click empty project, this is so you can add your own loops and elements. if you click the other templates such as r&b or Rock the software will set up the instruments and elements for you which you do not want, espically if you are a beginner because it may be confusing.

After clicking the empty project,this should come up.  

One thing you need to know is that number means the amount of tracks (audio or software) you would like to add For example here i have chosen 5 it appear showing this….

On the right hand side, there should be some tabs: one that says bin, one that says loops.

Click the loops and then drag the loops that you want and then drag it onto the arrange window.
