The First Idea:

I actually think that’s a good idea, you know. – Sheila, 17. Then I had asked her what she liked about and she said ‘I think that it’s good because of the fact that it’s a college student who gets memory loss, so it will sound more interesting’.

The feedback shown is from a seventeen year old girl named Sheila. She has given me positive feedback which is soothing, because it has taken me one step closer to deciding what idea I will be using for my final major project. Also, she has informed me on why she thinks it is a good idea to do which I like because it helps me even more (detailed answers are always good).

It seems like a good start.– Alexander, 19

The feedback is very short but positive. The idea that I have communicated to him is a good start which encourages me to do more research. This has enabled me to feel like I am on the right path.

It sounds interesting, this is something I can visualise being on television. – Lydia, 14

This shows that the theme I have chosen will be accepted by the audience and her purposing that it should be on television suggests that it would surely appeal to mainstream audiences as the theme is an emotive topic. This is such as a huge compliment because of the fact that she can see it on television such as BBC or ITV, it makes me visualise further ahead.

I think the concept is good and you should go for it. I like the concept and the simplicity of it – Patrick, 17

This piece of feedback is good because he likes the concept so that means he will be more than willing to watch my drama and I hope that this will be a general opinion by the people who watch the pilot.

That’s a good story line to be honest. – Faiza, 16

It is great that people are honest when giving their opinions, this piece of feedback tells me that the basis of my idea is good. I feel more confident in this idea and maybe I should elaborate further on this idea making it my final major project idea.

Well I think it’s quite original. I’ve read a few books about people who lose all memory, but there are so many twists you can have. – Clara, 16

Clara likes my idea and is implying more research should be put in as could be so many different thing that cause amnesia and so many different scenarios that could be brought forwards as well.

The idea is alright. – Moses, 19

This feedback is positive which is good because it is comforting to know that idea will be acceptable.

It sounds good, I like it a lot. – Peony, 17

This is encouraging because they are interested in the concept without me saying too much.

It sounds cool so far :). l like it especially since it’s gonna be in the drama genre which is always interesting . It would be cool to find out about how he gets it and I think it’d be pretty exciting since there aren’t any series out there at the moment with that theme. – Camila

Camila has given me positive, which is always reassuring. Also,  it comes to show how amnesia is not a common topic shown on television or in television shows. So, there is a need for the public to know and to be informed about how it is developed. Also, if there is a cure or a life and death issue. This topic will attract more awareness towards Amnesia and how it affects people’s lives, as a lot of people do not know what it is about. Most people attach memory loss with age however, that is not the case.

The Second Idea

It’s good. I think that you could put some more drama into it, like when he’s doing something dangerous she falls for him and is at his bedside but it’s too late and he moves on. – Natalia, 16

is advising me saying that the concept should be more dramatic with the addition of new scenes/chapters to what I already have.

Awww that’s sweet but sad and sounds good but for me I don’t think there’s not enough drama. – Irene, 19. After she told that here’s not enough drama I had asked her ‘ What do you think I should add?’ and she replied ‘Oh right well at the moment it sounds good and maybe a plot twist or maybe the boy actually fights for the girl or the girl fights for the boy not sure to be honest‘.

The feedback shown above is both positive and negative which shows like the concept will be difficult to expand it. The drama part of my concept will not fulfill the audiences needs.

The Third Idea:

For some reason I just thought of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. the concept sounds interesting. I would be funny if in the end after all the trouble he goes through she turns out to already have a boyfriend or a really scary brother.

I think this one is definitely one I’d watch at the weekends or like at sleepover and stuff since it sounds like a sort of family entertainment or just one you’d want to watch with a group of people, which is good as you’d easily get lots of people watching it and high ratings.

I’m curious already about what happens and how he keeps failing before the last attempt, like do other guys like her so is he competing against them? Or does she have friends that don’t like him so they don’t deliver his flowers or gifts and stuff – my imaginations going crazy here. – Camila, 17

In this opinion that she has given she has visualised it to a comedy rather than something serious. She is suggesting that I it is a romantic comedy then more people would want to watch it. This is great feedback because it is long and detailed. Also, it is positive and has given me an insight on what could do if I decide to go through with this idea

I like it. The fact you made it romantic comedy and I tend to find it funny. – Oniel 17.

this suggest that more people are likely to watch it which is similar to the previous response given by Camila.

This idea sounds good because it is reliable for example, this storyline kind of reflects my life. – Hung,15

This implies that he is won over by the concept and he relates to the concept in real life. This is interesting because if one person relates to the idea, it makes you think maybe there other out there who might friend themselves in the same position.

The Fourth Idea:

Hmm.. yeah it is alright but you should think bigger. – Lydia, 15

This feedback is positive and negative because its good however, it’s quite vague.

It is alright. – Kane, 16

The feedback given to me by Kane is not detailed but positive, this is good.

Yeah that’s a good idea. – Russheena, 17

The feedback shown above is positive and its a good stating point to build on.

The idea seems cool, I think its cool because it’s unique and I do not think anyone has done it before. – Fabio, 18

This feedback implies that the concept would be good because it hasn’t been done before (unique) and it might interesting to watch. This positive feedback is very refreshing.

Conclusion:

Conclusively, the feedback I have received from my peers has proved to me that my third idea is a brilliant idea however, I will not be using this idea, which was a difficult decision to make. In addition, I will not be using my second idea as well, this is due to the feedback being negative. I have accepted the constructive criticism and decided not to use it, furthermore, there are more responses on my other three ideas compared to this one, so on that basis I stand by my decision.

When it comes to my fourth idea involving a documentary, the comments given are similar to each other which means that it would be a good concept for my final major project however, I will not be using this idea. Ultimately, I have decided to use the first idea for my final major project because of the positive and encouraging feedback. In addition to fact that it raise awareness about amnesia, which benefits the general public (the people watching).
