How to blend using adobe after effects

To start with, you must open adobe after effects using the symbol on the desktop or just type in Adobe after effects into your computer’s search engine.

This window should come up, that mean you have to click new composition to start this blending technique.Make sure you save before you start and then every 10 mins or every change that you make. To save, you have to go to file and then save as Blending with the date you had created it on, so you know when it has been updated if you want to come back to it because you haven’t finished it or you want to add more.

This is what come up (picture shown the left hand side) after clicking new composition showing you the different what you need to do is, go to import. This is found in the tab that says file, then you have to scroll down to import and click file (picture is shown on the right hand side). Go to the footage that you want to use, which in this case it is AB_CloudChamber…., you should see the footage on the side of the screen, drag it down to the timeline.

If the image comes up like this, it just means that your view is zoom out. to fit make the box fit the screen you should click the tab nearest to the bottom left corner saying the percentage this box (footage) is zoomed to, click that tab and then set it to fit to screen and it should zoom in to fit screen, which helps you see better. Also if that is not enough you can always zoom it in more, depending on how you want it.

After importing the previous footage, you must save your work, then import another video by going to File, Import and clicking file. After that, go to the David Jenkins folder and click AB_Liquid…  Now that the footage is on the timeline, which means you can move on to the next stage.

Drag the video you have just imported to your previous composition, which was the cloud chamber to start blending.

You will have to go to effect, which is on the right side of the windows under the preview, go to the blend effect, once that is clicked, drag it the video labelled Ab_CloudChamber and the settings for that blend mode will appear. Make sure the cloud Chamber footage is above the other video because if it is below , the blending will not work. When blending the cloud you must adjust the blend with the original setting, the original setting is 100% so change it to 52% and then you are finished.
