The first thing is to open up Adobe After Effects software. To open the software you could either use the shortcutScreen Shot 2014-11-13 at 16.03.13 or you can type it into the search engine Screen Shot 2014-11-13 at 16.05.17 Screen Shot 2014-11-13 at 16.05.25.

Once you’ve lick the shortcut or the link from the search engine, a warning notice will appear, all you have to do is click OK and move on.

After that, the window shown in the picture above you ail appear. To do the composition you have to click New Compositon.

Then the Composition Settings window will pop up, what you need to do is give your composition a name, which is Masking and then go to preset and click HDTV 1080 24. On the other hand you could type 1920 as the width and 1080 as the height, but you have to make sure that the Lock Aspect Ratio is not ticked.

The next step is to import the image file and the video file. So, what you need to do is go to File, scroll down to Import and click Multiple Files or you can use the shortcut, which is Alt, Command & I.

After clicking Multiple Files, you have to click your image and the import it by clicking Open.

Once you have imported your image, you need to import your video. So click you video, Open and then Cancel.

After you have imported your video and image you need to drag them to the little icon(shown in the picture above). Once you’ve done that drag the compositions that you have just drag to the icon, to the masking composition.

After you have dragged the compositions you have to enlarge the image. This is done by using the mouse, clicking the image on the timeline (the composition) and then using the edges make the image bigger.However, leave a bit of space it looks better like that.

To do the masking you need to clic the pen tool after clicking the image shown on the timeline. After that you have to click around the inside of the CD to make a circle. So, for each progression around the CD you have to click, until you have a complete circle.

When you have completed the masking circle, it will appear as seen in the picture above, which is not what you want. You need to make the making circle cut the inside instead of the outside. This is shown in the next step.

To tun the crop (mask) inside out, you have to go to the timeline click the Ew_InfoTech_CD, un group it click masks and ungroup that. After you done that Mask1 will appear and as you can in the picture above, it is on Add click the Add and make sure it is on subtract.

Then go up to the top of the screen and click the mouse tool (shown selected in the picture above).

The outcome should be similar or exactly like the picture above, then make sure that the video is enlarged and position in the centre of the hole because it looks more effect (comes out better). Once you have positioned and enlarged your video, you have to pick the time limit for your video, which is 10 seconds in this tutorial (shown in the picture above on the right hand side). To set a time limit you have to go to the end of the video and drag the ….

After setting a time limit for your composition (video), you have duplicate your footage because it is too short. this is done by clicking on the video and press command and C or you can go to edit and click copy.

To paste it on to the timeline, you have to press command and V. When you have done that, drag the sec on along until it reaches the 10 seconds.

Now that you have finished your composition you have to render it. To render your composition you have to go to the Tool bar located at the top of the screen, click Composition and then scroll down to Add to Render Queue.

The picture above presents to you the render queue, the first step in rendering your composition is to Output Module.

To set your Output Module setting you have make sure the Format is on QuickTime, after setting your format, go to Format Options. Once the Format Options window appears you ave to go to Video Codec, scroll down to H.264 and then click OK.

The next step is to go to Output Movie to, click it and save your composition naming it Masking.

After giving your compoition (video) a name and clicking save, it’s now time to render your video. So in the right hand side of the Render Queue window you have to click Render

end

When you’ve completed the whole entire composition it should look like this (result shown in the picture above). After that you need to upload it on YouTube and add it to your blog, you can show it off to relatives and friends if you want to.
