The Exhibition

Review on the Exhibition

I went the exhibition/showcase at Westminster Kingsway College which is where I attend. This event was to showcase the creative departments work such as Fashion, Games and Animation, Photography and Film. In this exhibition, my work was showcased.

I enjoyed the entire exhibition it was fantastic, so inspirational. I got to witness films that were created by my classmates which were phenomenal, I enjoyed watching every single one of them. I even have my 7 favourite films which were by Resham, Jacob, Nathan, Maria, Karim, Olivia and Alex. I liked the others as well but I think these were my top 7 out of 16 videos that were displayed.

After we finished watching all of the videos, we received some business cards that we could use in the future. They look so professional and are easy to understand when you read it. These cards had made me think about where I will be in a few years time and how I will be making connections and networking, giving potential coworkers and clients my business and telling them to contact me.

In addition to that, I like how the screening was laid out because it was structured like an actual  viewing  was chairs in rows. Although I wished that there was popcorn, on the other hand, there was a listing sheet briefing you with information about who did what video and what video is coming next along with the pictures of each participant. The exhibition did supply snacks and drinks, unfortunately, I was too engaged in the exhibition that I missed out on the food but that was okay because I had food afterwards.

I also liked other parts of the exhibition, for example, view the photography that was done, for example, David Bonkale’s photography, I really looking at the picture that he had displayed on the wall along with his photography book which shown his progression and the photos his took before coming up with the final outcome. Throughout the exhibition, I think that I something I enjoyed looking at people’s books and seeing how they got to their end result and the thought process that they went through. Also,  the work produced by animation department was amazing because you think that they took weeks to do a piece when they have learnt so much that when you ask them how long I took to create their final product and they say 4-6 hours you are surprised. It is so cool and inspirational.

I learnt more about the hard work that myself and other people go through in coming up an end result that you can be proud of and show off to loads of people. Even though, there are different areas of the creative department. The amount of hard work that you have to put into creating something that you are satisfied with and you think is successful is the same. Furthermore, I learnt that every time that I go to one I like them more and more.

The venue was amazing because the space used for the exhibition was huge so that helped in displaying more things that I could look at and enjoy. Furthermore, there was a lot of space to move around so it wasn’t cramped.

I would defiantly recommend this to people who like exhibitions, people who enjoy art and future students who come to the college and do the same course that I have done as well as other creative departments that I had mentioned in this review because when people see your work especially family and friends and they tell you that you have done a get job it feels good and rewarding. I think that exhibitions are really amazing and it is a great experience because you get to see other people’s work and experience what could be like in the future. Also, you get business cards out of it that you can use which is a bonus.
