I am thinking about doing annoyance as the theme for my final major project. There are many sides of annoyance, if I do this theme, it would be based around the attention aspect of annoyance (wanting attention).
Positives
- I think that I could come up with a few funny scenarios based on annoyance and attention.
- There is a lot of variety with this theme. There are many ways I could present this theme.
- I think that some people will be able to relate.
Negatives
- People who do the thing that I will mention which attract attention and cause annoyance may get offended.
Acceptance
Positives
- It could help the audience who are struggling through hard times.
- I think that its good topic to discuss and or display.
- Allows personal growth in character’s development.
Negatives
- The audience might not satisfied with the idea of acceptance I decide to do.
- Certain audience may have different reactions when it comes to relating to the film
Sightseeing
Positives
- Sightseeing is a wide theme. I could focus on one place or multiple places.
- I can go different places exploring London.
- People who watch my final major project might want to see London.
- I get to know a bit more about the area I’m living in as I go.
Negatives
- Weather Condition are normally unpredictable in London.
- Complaints from pedestrians passing or nearby
- Noise from vehicles.
Religion
Positives
- Could create awareness to people who don’t what religion is about
- Exploration of every aspect of religion.
- Appeal to a certain audience depending on project’s ideals
Negatives
- People may be offended.
- Indecisiveness on a religion can cause time-consuming effort.
- Hard to get interviews.
Infatuation
Positives
- I haven’t done it before so I would like to explore the theme and I would be an interesting topic to discuss.
- I think that there are a lot of ways I could present this theme. For example, I could do it in a comedic way, for example, someone being infatuated with beards or I could do it in a deeper way and make it about a person and how they would die for them.
- Relatable to the audience as someone watching could be going through or have gone through that experience.
- Ability to show different types of infatuation and how different each type may be.
Negatives
- Maybe perceived as stereotypical which may offend the audience.
Revenge
Positives
- May engage the audience on a subconscious level of awareness.
- Allows the audience to feel the emotion of satisfaction at the end of the movie depending on the project.
- Allows the audience to feel different emotions depending their perception of revenge
- Maybe cause feelings of excitement while filming.
Negatives
- Actors may not portray correct emotions which that are portrayed with taking revenge.
- The characters act of revenge may cause a disturbance in the audience.
Crime
Positives
- It could relate to real life situations, for example, certain incidents happening locally etc.
- There’s a lot of scenarios I could work with if I came up with a storyline.
Negatives
- The biggest negative of doing a crime-themed film is that I think that crime would take too long with the time frame that we have. Too many props needed to complete it, it will be too big of a production.
- If done incorrectly, it may offend the audience. It may be sensitive to the audience because a person watching it may be the attacker or the victim of abuse.
Peace
Positives
- Allows the film to end on a happy basis.
- Gives the character a sense of accomplishment as they go throughout their story.
Negatives
- The audience may get bored if the aspect of peace is used too often, the character must work hard towards that eventual goal.
- Shows that the screenwriter lacks imagination as there is not much of a challenge.
Culture
Positives
- There’s variety in the theme, for example, culture is to do with music, countries, race and more.
- You can explore and learn more about your culture as well as other cultures, making the audience aware of people’s backgrounds.
Negatives
- It may offend people.
- If shown in a negative aspect could cause a false sense of knowledge to the audience.
Motivation
Positives
- Allows the audience to understand why the character is doing what he/she is doing.
- May inspire the audience who are watching.
- Gives the story meaning.
Negatives
- May come across as a cliche which is not good.
