Romeo and Juliet – Shakespeare

The Romeo and Juliet story (play) is about two teenagers who take their own lives because they couldn’t live without each other, it was love at first sight but also doomed at first sight because of who they were associated with.

I like the concept of Shakespeare’s play because it shows you how powerful love can be. In conjunction with that, it shows how much love can affect our lives and that love triumphs over hatred. I think that Shakespeare was a spectacular writer and I can advance a bit further in my journey to coming up with ideas for my project. I think that Romeo and Juliet story (play) is defiantly an impulsive and infatuated love story, the reason why I make that statement is because they would die before being with anyone else. I think that is more than just being in love, I think that is infatuation. Their love was so strong that the thought of one’s death was bearable and that is the passion that has caught my attention. Maybe I could do something similar to Romeo and Juliet or along the lines of the story.

Maybe one of my characters falls in love with another character and they are having a wonderful time but then an ex-boyfriend or her brother tries to break them up for some reason that neither of them knows about. I feel that some aspects of this story would be useful to me and I am glad that I remembered this play. This play has been useful to me because it has given me more clearance on infatuation because the play links to the definition of infatuation I found on intropsych.com which provides evidence reassuring me about the definition which helps me understand the definition and know that intropsych.com is a reliable source.

Loves Labour Lost – Shakespeare

In this play, the characters (three lords and a king) think they can cut out love and feminine companionship from their lives. However, once they discover the physical attraction of their female characters, the spark of love leads to a form of self-discovery. From this play, I have learnt that infatuated love can get characters renounce their vow of celibacy and people can be devoted to the partners even though they have to depart from a year. Also, I have learnt that when a man is infatuated with a beautiful woman and she refuses to accept his love in order to intend the courtship and his commitment, it can result in the infatuated person to become depressed and start evading friends and family.

Furthermore, I really how his uses poetry to communicate his feelings of rejection I think that I could use that in my own project, my character could give a speech to the person they are in love with. In Act I Scene II when Armando is being marched away by Costado, the chatter his love to Jaquenetta and she doesn’t seem interested. Once chastised, he chatters about his feelings of rejection in a terribly formal matter, this information has helped me because it has presented a different of how infatuation is presented. Lastly, I have learnt more about how infatuation works and how it linked to the definition I previously found in the dictionary. In addition, this research can assist me when I am constructing the personalities and developing my film. I think that the knowledge I have acquired from this research, my theme of infatuation would reflect on screen.
