This project Dreams has been the most challenging task that I have done since I had started at the college.

The most challenging part of this project was the research, when I was doing the research, I had known what to research however there is no word count so, I had to get feedback from Mark on when I research was enough. On reflection, I know how much research I had needed to do, because of feedback from my tutor and that is good.

One of the negative aspect of this project was the fact that I only had a bit of an idea,I could have planned a bit more such as a script or storyboard of my ideas (and the different scenes). However, the resolution to his issue was that I had done a scene by scene router, so that I can get more of an idea of what i want to do. During the research and planning process, it was so difficult to get an interview with any of the various religious leaders to discuss what ‘Dreams. After reflecting on my work, I think I should have taken my camera and go to the places of worship, asking the religious leader face to face to interview them.

During the making of the film, I was multi tasking all the time, networking, planning, organising, visualising on what my final product should look like. Casting and picking the actors for the film after the auditions was even more daunting, as I had to make a decision and when it came to rejecting an actor because there were a limited amount of characters. It would have been easier if there were 10 people auditioning however, there were 6 audition and I had to get rid 1 actor

A problem that I had with filming was that I didn’t have the actors phone numbers, which meant I had to search for the actors or hope that they were in class. On reflection, I have learnt that I have to get the cast and crews contact details straight away so it reduces time-wasting, this project was a great experience.

When filming my short film people would go in front of the camera or disrupt the filming process. I have learnt that I have to film at a certain times of the day so that there will be no disturbances, which is what I did for scene the first few takes, we filmed the scene when everyone was in class. On reflection, I have realised that I should be more assertive.

One of the scenes that I had used in my short film was the park, which meant I had to consider the weather and the environment, when we had got to the park it was muddy. I could have warned the actor and cast about what to bring. Furthermore because of this experience I know to inform people better (in advanced).
One of the positive aspects of this whole project is the location scouting that I have done. The locations for this film carefully thought through and fits in well with my visualisation of what the film should be. For instance travelling to High Barnet and Hampstead Heath, this experience has improved my travelling skills.

Furthermore, looking back at the various feedback that I got regarding the film, I think they very constructive and helped in the production of the film. My time management was very good for example getting the necessary shots in a short period of time.

The editing went really well such as choosing the different camera shots and editing them together, the sound being too low and I had to move around to different computers so the files it was difficult to editing. On reflection, I had overcome these issues by putting everything onto my hard drive and asking my peers opinion on the sound. Also, because the film was too long and I did not really know how to create the falling effect, I had to get rid of the falling scene, which was good because I found out later on that it was not needed.

In my opinion, all of the actors were a great to work with, the acting that they did was phenomenal, they had put 110% into each scene. There were no problems with them and I hope to work with these actors again.

Additionally, I like the fact that I could asked my peers for help and advise on different scenes. During the making of the film, I was multi tasking all the time, networking, planning, organising, visualising on what my final product should look like.

After looking over my diary and reflecting on this project I have  learnt how to work under pressure for instances the scene that was filmed at supreme, the owners let my film the scene however, they were rushing us in case they get a lot of customers.

Furthermore, I have improved my panning technique when I am using the camera, thanks to the feedback from my peers. Also, the right time to use the zoom in and out function when I am filming a scene (film). On reflection, I have learnt how to use feedback to improve my project and this is presented on my blog and the diary that I have written.

I have learnt how to use liquid latex to create a specific effect, I have done a video that shows the process. After filming the puppet scene for my project, it has broadened my thoughts on special effects and the effect it gives to a scene.

As this is my first major task on this course (creative media production) at the college, I have learnt a lot during a short period.I hope the audience watching my short film will enjoy it because I have put in so much work into its production.
