After looking on YouTube for songs associated with the theme Infatuationn’. I came across this song by Lipstick Gyspy and this song talks about his infatuation with  this girl. I sort of agree with the pretence of this song due to the previous research on this topic. I like the concept of this video because it feels like a fantasy and it represents the sexual side of the definition. In addition to that, I like the way it was shot because it is intimate and the shots are mostly closeups. I think that this has helped me and my project because it has made me think more about the shots and what shots I will want to have for my final product along with making me think more about what my idea will be, which is based on this theme. It has also helped me a bit in figuring out what aspect of infatuation I would like to use.

Selena Gomez – Hands to myself

I remembered watching this music video by Selena Gomez and how it links to theme Infatuation. The concept of this movie within a music video relates this is displayed in a few different ways, for example, She goes into his house uninvited (trespassing) along with the fantasies that she creates in her head. There are other signs of infatuation such as wearing his shirt, smelling his cologne, laying on his bed, imagining him in the shower and the fact that he calls the police on her as well. Watching this video has helped me because it has given me more ideas on how my characters will behave and has given me an idea as to what my concept will be.

Maroon 5 – Infatuation

I think that a lot of these songs based on infatuation are similar, just displayed in different ways. I think that I agree with the context and concept of the song because of the previously seen definition of infatuation. Infatuation is an excessive desire for someone and I think that this song portrays that. Each song and video bring me closer to what I want to do for my final major project, which is good.

Mariah Carey – Obsessed

This song carries a message from the person being obsessed over and they are rejecting the obsessor. I think that this is completely different to the others because the others talk about the person they are infatuated with, however, this song and video is from the admired. I think this has helped me and my project because of the way she reacted to the obsessor. My character or concept could display her characteristics.

Conclusion

I think that these examples have helped me a lot this is because of the different ways infatuation is presented through the lyrics and music video. All of these examples have helped me in some way which I explained under each song. I think that looking at songs and analysing lyrics has benefited me and I am glad that I looked up infatuation through music. It broadened my mind on infatuation more, I think that the analysing has backed up some of the previous research that I have done on infatuation a bit more.
